Yuri is a professional guitarist, studio and recording artist, composer, arranger and a guitar teacher. Born in St. Petersburg,
Russia, at around fourteen years of age he developed a strong passion for guitar, and he applied his strong knowledge of
music theory, as well as his pitch sense and excellent technique and touch, to quickly pick up the instrument.
In 1991, Yuri followed his family and settled in Jerusalem, Israel. In 1995 He has graduated B.A at Rubin Academy in
Jerusalem, Jazz department.
He quickly became a highly respected musician for his growing versatility of styles, advanced improvisation techniques and
unique rhythmic approach, accurate and precise performance, colorful note choice.
He then and up till a present monent played in bands, ranging from gypsy-jazz to be-bop, classic rock music to funk, from ethnic Irish and Balkan asymmetric music to rhythm and blues, from R’ n B to smooth jazz.
He played and recorded for many artists with a variety of different styles, and he nurtured the careers of emerging singers, arranged and recorded songs for them.
He is also an active performing musician in different projects, including jazz and Latin music, and also a participant of an international puppet theater group ”Koom-Koom” for a last eight years.
As a seasoned musician with a deep knowledge of guitars and guitar sound, theory and education strategy and logic, he
has also been a consultant and a dedicated tutor in schools and private for the last decade. As a profound guitar teacher,
Yuri developed his own unique approach for improvising and jazz harmony and songs arrangements for guitar.
