BIOGRAPHY
Polish-born Violinist Anna Orlik is a laureate of competitions including: 1st Prize and Special Prize at the 6th International Wolfgang Marschner Violin Competition in Germany; Haverhill Sinfonia Deena Shipitka 2015 Music Award, UK; Solo Award and Ludwig Spohr Foundation Prize at the International Max Reger Competition in Sondershausen, Germany; International Festival Allegro Vivo Award, Austria; and in Poland, Special Prize at the International Karol Szymanowski Competition, Łódź; and three prizes at the National Stanisław Serwaczyński Violin Competition, Lublin: 3rd Prize, Youngest Finalist Prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of Karol Josef Lipiński’s work. As a laureate of Young Artist Program of the Rome Chamber Music Festival, she was invited to perform at Palazzo Barberini in Italy.
Anna’s performing experience includes solo appearances with Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestra, Podkarpacka Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Zielona Góra, Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra (Sopot), Łomża Chamber Orchestra, Z.Brzewski Warsaw String Orchestra, Polish Land Armed Forces Orchestra, Loh- Orchester Sondershausen, Deutsche Spohr Philharmonie Freiburg, Deutsche Spohr Akademie Freiburg. She has performed recitals in Poland, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Ukraine and Tunisia.
Most significant appearances from the last season include performances during Ohrid Music Festival in Macedonia, and also Gstaad Menuhin Festival where she have performed Sonata for two violins by S. Prokofiew together with legendary violinist Maxim Vengerov.
In 2016 Anna joined the International Menuhin Music Academy (IMMA) in Switzerland where she currently studies under Maxim Vengerov and Oleg Kaskiv.
Previously she graduated the Royal Academy of Music in London with first class honors and received Regency Award, Roth Prize and J. E. Reckitt Award from the Academy. In London she studied violin with Maurice Hasson and Mateja Marinkovic, and viola with James Sleigh. Anna studied also the F.Chopin Music University in Warsaw among others with Konstanty Andrzej Kulka.
She has participated in masterclasses with: Maxim Vengerov, György Pauk, Zakhar Bron, Wolfgang Marschner, Grigory Zhislin, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Mirosław Ławrynowicz, Bartlomiej Nizioł, Marina Jaschwili, Ian Brown, Robert McDuffie, and Josef Luitz.
Anna has received the following scholarship awards: The Ministry of Culture,Young Poland, Polish Children’s Fund, the Royal Academy of Music- Entrance Scholarship, Leverhulme Trust, Jenkins Award, Tillett Trust – in association with the Colin Keer Trust.
Since 2016, Anna has been generously supported by the Zetland Foundation.
Anna plays an Genario Gagliano violin.
