Axia Marinescu is a concert pianist and winner of numerous awards in Romania, Greece, Italy, France. At the age of 11, she made a distinguished debut playing Mozart's piano concerto no.23, KV. 488, with the Romanian National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest, being described as "a little genius playing a concerto wrote by another great genius in the history of music- Mozart"( Maestro Ovidiu Balan- conductor). By the age of 16, Axia Marinescu made a fulminant debut on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum Hall.
In 2013, Miss Marinescu was the first Romanian artist to be invited to perform at the prestigious award ceremony of the "Légion d'honneur", in Paris.
Born in Romania, she started studying piano at the age of 5, with Ms. Ileana Busuioc at the "George Enescu" Music High School in Bucharest. She also studied music theory, harmony, counterpoint and composition. By the age of 17, she continued her studies at the "Conservatoire de Lausanne", being admitted directly in the Master Course and later at the "École normale de musique de Paris" and "Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles" (graduated Magna cum laudae), under the guidance of internationally acclaimed pianists and musicians: Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Dominique Cornil, Rena Shereshevskaya, Theodor Paraskivesco, Gabriel Teclu.
She followed various master classes, most notably with Jacques Rouvier, Théodor Paraskivesko, Roy Howat, Felix Gottlieb, Andrzej Jasinski, Stanislav Pochekin. Axia was awarded the "Scheuring- Paris" Scholarship in 2009.
Described as a "charismatic pianist " with a "deep and intelligent playing", Axia is often invited to perform as soloist and chamber musician in Romania, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria. She recorded for the Romanian Broadcasting Corporation and her recitals and concerts with orchestra were broadcasted on television. Her 2010 debut in Paris, at the "Cité des Arts" Concert Hall, received favourable reviews in the music press: "Axia Marinescu a ravi l'auditoire très nombreux."
Axia Marinescu is also interested in the baroque music and instruments such as harpsichord and clavichord, playing both as soloist and together with baroque ensembles in France and Romania. At the other end of the spectrum, she tries to promote contemporary piano music, as result of the colaboration with composers like Dan Dediu, Claude Ledoux.
In 2007 she recorded a CD at the Romanian Composers’ Union with works of Bach, Schumann and Beethoven.
Axia Marinescu also studies philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris. Her articles on philosophy, aesthetics and history of religions were published at "Curtea Veche Publishing", Bucharest and appeared in Romania and France, under the guidance of world famous scientists.
