Marc Berner began his musical odyssey in Port Chester, New York at the age of seven, playing the odd combination of bugle and piccolo. His fingers couldn't cover the holes of the originally desired clarinet, thus piccolo was the woodwind suggested. The c flute followed soon after, and some years later came the alto, bass and contra bass flutes, as well as the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, along with some trumpet. Marc's recording debut came in 1973 with his then neighbor, Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul and Mary), playing flute on Noel's Something New and Fresh album. Active in Miami, Florida since 1983, he has worked and recorded largely as a sideman in varied musical styles. In 2004 he co-produced his first CD entitled Wind and Strings for Yoga with Philadelphia guitarist/songwriter Jonathan Dichter. Grateful Heart, his latest effort, is a duo with the brilliant Mike Gerber on piano and features Marc on flutes and saxophones, and vocals. - See more at: http://marcberner.com/bio/#sthash.yI2nXeTb.dpuf
