About Shoushik Barsoumian

Klassik

A light lyric, Shoushik Barsoumian has delved into extensive repertoire, performing among others the roles of Gilda (Rigoletto), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Musetta (La Bohème), and 20th century works such as Stravinsky’s Svadebka, Ligeti’s Mysteries of the Macabre, and Berio’s Sequenza III.
Shoushik’s Armenian heritage inspires her ongoing exploration of the Armenian music literature and in collaboration with the Lark Musical Society she has presented works of Komitas, world premieres of composers T. Manusurian, I. Krouse, and A. Aharonian, and the title role in Tigranian’s opera Anoush.
Ms. Barsoumian is featured in two releases by Naxos Records, namely as the soprano soloist in Ian Krouse’s Armenian Requiem, and as La Fata Azzurra in O. Respighi’s La Bella Dormente nel Bosco.
