Ramzi Yassa is the winner of several international prizes. He has appeared both live and on television throughout the world in such venues as the Beijing Concert Hall,the Forbidden City Concert Hall, the Barbican, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Kennedy Center, the Mann Auditorium, the Musikverein, the Palau, the Tivoli, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, the Palais des Beaux Arts….His concerto performances have associated him with such conductors as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Charles Groves, Yehudi Menuhin, Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, Vladimir Sladkowsky. Ramzi Yassa was born in Cairo where he started his piano lessons with his mother. He graduated from the Cairo Conservatoire and then joined the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow where he studied with S. Dorensky. He is the winner of the First Grand Prix in the Paloma O'Shea International Competition in Santander .
His CD and DVD recordings include among others, works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Chopin, and Beethoven.
Ramzi Yassa was invited to take part in the jury of many prestigious international piano competitions such the V. Horowitz Competition, The A. Rubinstein Competition, the Leeds Competition, the Santander Competition to name a few. He has also participated both as a performer and a speaker to events organized by Unesco.
Besides his performing activities, he is Pianoforte Professor at the Ecole Normale de Musique "Alfred Cortot" in Paris.
Ramzi Yassa is the artistic director of the International Music Center in Manasterly Palace, Cairo and the International Music Festival in Dinard, France. He is an Honorary Guest Musician of the Shanghai International Youth Orchestra and Honorary Member of Animato in Paris. He received the Franz Liszt Centenary Commemorative Medal.
In 2007 he was awarded the Egyptian Merit State Prize.
