About SOFIA TRENOR

Pop Volksmusik Soundtrack

Personal Belongings was presented at the Búho Real (Madrid). This small musical corner in Madrid welcomed Sofía Trenor and Ignacio Madero, giving them an opportunity to show off their latest work. After three years with the Satine band, experiencing Parisian triphop, Sofía settled in Madrid and met Nacho, who at the time was collaborating in electro-acoustic projects. It all started when they decided to record “Caterpillars”, a song written as a tribute to a good friend of Sofía, who had passed away some years before. One thing led to another and, after two years of common work, almost by chance, they recorded their first album in English Personal Belongings. In this album both have found a common universe.
Pop craftwork, folk and jazz, where one appreciates the attention to detail in the musical arrangements. The warmth and unusual intimacy of Sofía’s voice do the rest. “Clocks” is the name of their first Single and video; it has a particular nonconformist spirit which adheres to no particular style and to many styles at the same time. Their music takes you straight into a sixties’ American diner and every chord carries a melancholy without borders.
Personal Belongings recently wrote the song “Prince of Paradox” for the sound track of the film “¿Estás ahí?”, starred by Gorka Ochoa and directed by Roberto Santiago. Some songs of the album have also been used in TV series such as “Karabudjan” (Antena 3), “Cuestión de Sexo”, “HKM” (Cuatro) and “LLums en el Cavallet” (TV Valenciana), Fragiles (Mediaset).
In October 2010 Personal Belongings played in the preview of the film “Bon Appetit”, a joint European production starred by Unax Ugalde and directed by David Pinillos.
The first album of Personal belongings was presented in the “Teatro Lara” in Madrid, in June 2010, a fine and nostalgic compilation of songs that you can’t miss.
In 2012 the band released The cementery of lost sock, a touch of swing, jazz and smoke.
Both albums are available on itunes.
