'RIOT' was the first album of VANGARRETT. It came out December 1990! The album contains political and anti-drug songs, especially 'DOWNTOWN'. This song denounces the government of the United States of America, regarding the very bad situation of their 'forgotten Vietnam Veterans'. With this song Vangarrett and his band with mastermind Mike Ottis on his side won the international 'Rock Rodeo', but 'DOWNTOWN' was a metamorphosis from Rock music to R&B and Soul. Affected by black singers like 'Gil Scott Heron', 'Barry White', 'Isaac Hayes', but also by chanson singers like 'Ives Montand' and 'Gilbert Becaud' VANGARRETT changed his style.....
