Body made in Israel, soul made in heaven :) I'm a woman, a percussionist, with a great passion and love to music and it's incredible influence on life. West African music is my favorite genre of all, to play and to listen to. It moves me deeply. I've traveled to Africa a number of times to study from local masters and to absorb the tradition in its full context - the sites, sounds, tastes and people of Africa. I admit, I am at my best when I play the djembe, I am connected to this instrument in the deepest way. No other musical style brings out of me what the West African does. Yet many genres touch my soul and bring out into the open my emotions. As a percussionist I play with many bands in a rainbow of styles.. Rock, Ethnic, Fusion, Live Electronic, Greek, Persian, Blues, Latin. All are great and fantastic in my eyes, and it is an incredible experience to always re-discover myself in these genres.
I play. I teach and I learn.
I also conduct African drumming workshops all across Israel. Women's empowerment is a field very close to my heart and occasionally I hold women's groups which are intended to strengthen and motivate women. Above all, in my workshops I aim to give room to that wonderful channel, that allows the beat of the drum to just flow right through us. :-)
