Georgian soprano Salome Jicia will make her Italian debut in AsLiCo’s production of Mozart’s La Finta Semplice singing the role of Rosina. Previous engagements for this exciting newcomer include Aspasia in Mozart’s Mitridate, Re di Ponto with the Tbilisi State Opera.
In 2013 Salome took master-classes in Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with famous and very talanted singer Renata Scotto.
She has also performed exstensively in concert around Europe, most recently in Berlin, Potsdam, Tbilisi, and Rome. In 2011 Ms. Jicia performed at the Night Serenades Festival in Batumi, Georgia. That same year she made her solo recital debut performing the Georgian premiere of Messiaen’s Son Cycle Harawi. For the past two years she has also performed in the prestigious Georgian festival From Easter to Ascension., and 2012 Miss Jicia performed the Georgian premiere of Schoenberg’s Opus 8, 6 Orchester Lieder. At the invitation of Liana Isakadze she also performed Rachmaninoff’s Ne poy krasavitsa.
In 2012 she won Grand Prize in the International Music Festival of Turkey, Grand Prize at the International Singing Competition of Armenia, and first prize in the Lado Ataneli International Singing Competition. Miss Jicia has also recently taken part in the VII Tbilisi Chamber Music Festival.
