Born to a family of Ordu-Ünye descent, Sinan Ayyıldız was born in Ankara in the year 1980. After successfully completing his Chemical Engineering course at İTÜ (İstanbul Technical University) in 2003, he went on to study Masters Degree in İTÜ Molecular Biology and Genetics. Leaving this degree half way through the dissertation stage, he decided to enroll on a masters degree in İTÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory where he succesfully passed his compulsory exam which allowed him to undertake this this particular course. Completing this degree with success with his dissertation on ”Teke Yöresi Yörük Türkmen Müzik Kültüründe Çok Seslilik Özellikleri” translated as ”Polyphony Features in Southwest Anatolian Region Turkoman Music Culture” he began taking advanced bağlama techniques lessons from Erol Parlak in the years 2002-2006. He was the founder of the Dörttelli Bağlama Grubu (Fourstringed Bağlama Band) in 2003 and performed in numerous concerts, radio and television programs with the band. İn 2006 together with Güven Türkmen he perfomed in the ”2nd ITÜ Bağlama Days” concert. In the same year he temporarily joined the ”Erol Parlak Bağlama Beşlisi” band (Erol Parlak Bağlama Quintet). With this band he performed in numerous concerts in Turkey and internationally (Belgium). He was the notist of various music method books which include the şelpe method book written by Erol Parlak ”Şelpe Metodu 2” (Şelpe Method 2) and the kaval method book written by Sinan Çelik ”Kaval Metodu”. The Şelpe Method 2 book includes the artist’s şelpe adaptation of Fur Elise by L.V. Beethoven. Sinan Ayyıldız has been involved in countless albums, television series and movies as either a music director, arranger or performer. In 2008 he founded the bands Etni-ka and Bandura. He also performed in the 3rd İTÜ Bağlama Days concert with the Bandura Bağlama Ensemble. In 2009 together with the Etni-ka band which he performed in numerous concerts nationwide and abroad, they made their debut album named Pangea. He was the music director and arranger of the album. He made the televison series ”Sakarya Fırat’s” musics with Etni-ka alongside Aytuğ Yargıç. In 2009 Sinan Ayyıldız was invited to the Stereognosis project recordings in the USA, a project which involves specifically selected musicians from around the globe coming together. The Stereognosis Hybrid album was produced and released in 2011 in the USA. With the aim of benefiting from the polyphony within Turkish Folk Music itself and puting forward different interpretations of this style of music, he founded the ”Bedestan Türk Halk Müziği Orkestrası ve Solistleri” ensemble (Bedestan Turkish Folk Music Orchestra and Soloists Ensemble) together with Assistant Prof. Göktan Ay and Seval Eroğlu. He played key roles in the ensemble as arranger, composer orchestra conductor and assistant conductor. A solo album of the artist is undergoing and the new album of the Sterognosis Project is on its way. He is working with various bands and as solo as of present day.
