Ander Tellería, who was born in Donostia-San Sebastián (Spain), is at the moment one of the most promising accordionists at national level. He started his accordion studies at ten and at fifteen he began his career as a soloist with a concert at the Auditori of the Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sabadell. Just one year later he participated in the senior categories of international competitions like the International Accordion Prize 'Stefano Bizarri' (2004 in Morro D'Oro, Italy) obtaining the highest marks in the final phase. From then his interest in performing has taken him to play in countries like France, Portugal, Italy, Germany or Argentina and has collaborated in recordings like Star Track (published by Francisco Escudero Erdi Mailako Kontserbatorioa, 2008), Ander Tellería accordió (published by Juventuts Musicals de Moia, 2011) and Fantasía Geosinfónica/Galgenlieder (published by the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country (Musikene) and Kutxa, 2012).
He’s performances were retransmited alive by tv channels like La 2, Tv La Vall, TV Cero Cádiz or Teledonosti and radio channels like Radio Nacional de España, PuntoRadio, Onda Cádiz etc.. He has obtained different national prizes as a soloist among them we can mention the Certamen Guipuzcoano de Arrasate (First Prize 2009), the Concurs Saint Anastasi (First Prize 2010 and Prize ACDA to the best accordion performance) and Juventudes Musicales de España (First Prize 2010 in Murcia). He has lately obtained the First Prize at John Cage International Prize in Music Performance of Contemporary Music in Halberstadt (Alemania) with the Forner-Tellería duo of accordion and percussion. He is a member of the”Hausoka” accordion and guitar duo performing with them different premieres and is part of the Ensemble Ciklus. Ander Tellería’s work also covers the collaboration with composers who are in the process of creating new works using the accordion, what expands the repertoire of the instrument.
