Theodore Coresi born in Dochia, Neamţ County, graduated from the Conservatory of Music “Ciprian Porumbescu” – Bucharest, The Faculty of Instruments and Canto –Canto Department. Since 1986 he has had perfecting studies in Vienna with the professor Hubert Deutsch , Agnes Ivan and in Rome with the maestros Boris Christoff, Luigi Infantino and Giuseppe Taddei.
He also graduated from the Faculty of Theology, as part of the West University Timişoara
He obtained the degree Doctor in music at the National University of Music from Bucharest. Professor at the State University Oradea, Faculty of Music, at the University Pitesti, and guest professor of Pedagogical University – Moscow. Being laureate of many international competitions,: Verviers, Belgium, Belvedere - Vienna, Viotti/Vercelli-Italy, Canals/Barcelona-Spain. etc - he began his career performing on many opera and concert stages in Europe, Asia and America, as: Staatsoper Wien, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro Sao Carlo di Lisabona, Canadian Opera Company – Toronto, Opera Royal de Wallonie – Liege, the State Opera from Prague, Opera Leipzig, Vest Norges Opera-Bergen,Viena Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Hofburg, Spectaculum and Klangbogen – Vienna, Wexford, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Rome -Castel Gandolfo.Exceptional concerts with monumental works as “Messa da Requiem” (Verdi), The Creation” (Haydn), Messias (Händel), Johannes Passion (Bach) a.o., being accompanied by orchestras well-known all over the world: Wiener Philarmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, Wiener Hofburg Orchester, Wiener Kammerorchester, Gewandhaus Orchester, Basel Kammerorchester, Brucknerhaus Orchester – Linz, Capella Istropolitana a.s.o.He had the honour of performing in the presence of His Sanctity, Pope John Paul II, at the Castle Gandolfo. Founder and director of the opera company “Vienna Opera Company”, a company with which he has had tours in Germany, Romania, Austria and Italy.
Founder and artistic director of the Festival “OPERA NIGHTS” Corvins Castle/Romania.Founder and artistic director of the International music competition “VOX ARTIS” – Sibiu/Hermannstadt - Romania.
He was the artistic director of the Festival “Musical Holidays in Piatra-Neamţ” in 2003 and 2004, and president of the same Festival in 2009 and 2010.
He has been the vice-president of “International Festival of Dance and Music NOJA & CORESI”, CLUJ, Romania, in 2009, and is foreman of the Association for international cultural exchange “PRO ARTE“ – Vienna.
He has managed the Studio of canto “Opernsänger” in Vienna; in this studio many graduates of the universities of music all over the world (Vienna, Tokyo, Erevan, Seoul, New York, St. Petersburg, Bucharest), as well as young artists, that have already appeared on important opera and concert stages (Staatsoper Wien, Volksoper Wien, Covent Garden London, Musikverein Wien, Wiener Konzerthaus, the National Opera Bratislava, Bayerische Staatsoper München, The National Opera Bucharest, Opera Bremen, Erfurt, Würzburg, Maribor, Aachen, Moscow Novaya Opera a.s.o…) have been perfecting.
Becoming an important canto professor in great demand, with big successes, he is invited to lead many canto master-classes in Italy, Austria, Norway, Canada, Romania, Russia, Ukraina. s. o.
He was a soloist of the Romanian Opera in Bucharest and of the Philharmonic Orchestra “G. Enescu”.
He has been permanent member in juries at international canto competitions (Romania, Italy, Kazakhstan, Argentina).
In 2004, he was the president of the jury at the 20th edition of Valsesia Musica Competition (Viotti) – Italy.
