Personal biography

NadjaDornik was born on June 21st2000 in Belgrade, where she finished the high music school and high school as the best student in the generation, as she graduated simultaneously on two instruments: harp and piano. She has been studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Musique et Danse in Paris since 2017/2018, in the class of the harp teacher Isabelle Moretti.
In addition to her high school music education - instrument harp –which she obtained in the class of Dijana Sretenovic, MA, she acquired the skills on this instrument at numerous master classes with the following harpists: Fabrice Pierre, Ieuan Jones, Ion Ivan Roncea, Marielle Nordmann, Carrol McLaughlin, Emanuela Degli Esposti, ŞirinPancaroğlu, Sasha Boldachev, Remy van Kesteren, Assia Cunego.

This year, she has successfully passed the entrance exam at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Musique et Danse for the piano (following a unanimous decision made by all seven members of the jury). Subsequently, from this autumn, along with studying harp, she shall continue to study the piano.
During her education, she has achieved notable results in a number of international and national competitions. She won first prizes at international competitions: “Premiere Rencontres Internationales de la Harpe en Ile-de-France” (2016) France, “International competition Petar Konjovic”(2017, 2015, 2013) Serbia, “Suoni d' Arpa “ (2013) Italy, “Competition of woodwinds Pozarevac” chamber compositions category – harp and flute (2014), Serbia. Other prizes: International Harp Competition Szeged (2013)Hungary and American protégé New York (2014) USA. She was a semi-finalist at the “11th International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition” Moscow (2013) Russia.
At national competitions, she won eight first prizes, out of which four were prestigious awards.
She held soloist concerts in Belgrade, Milan, Florence, Standstat(Bremen) and Geneva. She held several humanitarian concerts.
She performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra“Stanislav Binicki”, the Symphony Orchestra of the Serbia Broadcasting Corporation, the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra “Borislav Pascan”, the Ensemble “Pro classica”Chamber Orchestra, in Serbia. At the International Flute Festival in Geneva she performed with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the most renowned Swiss flutist Sebastian Jacot.
In addition to classical music, Nadja also plays contemporary music. She realised a successful cooperation with the Italian composer Daniele Garella. In October 2015 she recorded her first CD in Italy together with the Italian harpist Emanuela Degli Esposti.
In July 2017, she held a recital at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong.
At the age of 14, she had her harp debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York, a year before she performed on the same instrument at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
She performed at all important music venues in Belgrade.
She participated many times at the International Harp Festival in Belgrade.

In addition to her regular obligations, she has been engaged since primary school at the Children’s’ Philharmonic Orchestra “Children to Children”in Belgrade, at the Children’s Choir “Horislavci”, performing at the National Theatre in Belgrade in operas “Werther”, ”Carmen”, “La Bohème”, Pagliacci” and “In hoc signo”.
More over, she was a member of the Young Talents Association ArtLink in Belgrade.

She is a member of the Harp Association of Serbia.

2014 - International wood-winds competition in Pozarevac : First prize -Laureate (100 points) at the chamber ensembles category
2014 - Republic competition of music and ballet schools of Serbia- First prize (100 points) in the competition of two categories above her harpist generation
2014 - Republic competition of music and ballet schools of Serbia– First prize for the combined duet harp and flute “BELISIMO“
2013 – International harp competition in Slovenia : Golden medal and Special award for the greatest artistic impression
2013 - International harp competition in Szeged, in the category up to 17 years : Second prize
2013 – International competition "Suoni d’Arpa"in Italy : First prize
2013 - International harp competition“PetarKonjović” in Belgrade: First prize and Special prize EMCY (European Union Music Competitions for Youth), as well as Special prize Camac Harps
2013 - Rotary 11th International Music Competition in Moscow : semi-finalist
2012 - Music talents competition, Serbia, Sremski Karlovci, harp : First prize - Laureate
2012 - Republic competition of music and ballet schools of Serbia, harp : First prize
2011 – When she was 11, she participated on the harp at the Music competition “Gvarnerius” for talents up to 24 years of age in the unique category comprising all instruments and won the fourth place in the competition of 115 participants and a possibility to perform at the final concert
