About Ana Marković

The young Serbian pianist Ana Marković attracted attention at an early age. Not being from a musical family, a trigger for passion in classical music came from daily listening to piano concerts on TV since she was two years old.
She started her musical path at the age of 7 and very soon made a presence on stages in her homecountry. By the age of 10 she received numerous awards at international competitions such as first prize at “6 concorso musicale internazionale Isole Borromee” and “Francesco Forgione concorso musicale internazionale” , Laureat at the “Young pianists festival in Sabac” and many others. In 2011 Ana Marković was awarded a scholarship by the Belgrade City and was granted a fellowship by the “Dositeja” Foundation three years in a row. In 2012 she performed a concert from Stanko Šepić with Belgrade Youth Orchestra and just a year later gave a solo recital at ArtGet Galery and played in Belgrade Philharmonics.
Young pianist received important musical guidance and impulses from Jokut Mihailović, Nataša Veljković, Đorđe Milojković,Aleksandar Serdar, Lyudmila Sinyagovskaya and Paul Badura-Skoda.
After 10 years of musical education in her homecountry, Ana Marković continued her musical studies with Prof. Nataša Veljković at the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna.
During her studies on MDW she participated in a big Gender Studies Projekt “Raum fur Fanny Hensel”, where she also contributed with her autstanding performance on the CD, recorded by Grammola Records.
As a solist and chamber musician Ana Marković not only plays but also organizes concerts and events in cooperation with painters, actors and other artists with the ideea of “Gesamtkunstwerk”.
