Music was my first love
and it will be my last.
Music of the future
and music of the past.

To live without my music
would be impossible to do.
(John Miles)

Music is able to influence people in various ways: It can lift your heart, it can make you cry, it can make you cheer.......it can make so much more.
That’s the power of music. No matter what kind of genre – commercial, classical or electronic – every style has its own individual impact on people.

Not only does the young artist Elinor Pongracz love music as a listener and is fascinated by its influential power, but she is also blessed to be able to create and deliver music by herself.

John Miles’ words describe Elinor’s passion for music in a very accurate way. The musician and composer discovered her talent approximately 20 years ago when she started to play nursery rhymes learned in kindergarden, music she heard on TV and self-improvised melodies on her toy piano.

Today, when performing on stage, Elinor is completely in her element. „The possibility to share the power of music, especially your own music, with an audience – that is the best feeling ever!“ says the talented musician. And who ever had the chance to listen to Elinor, knows what she is talking about: she delivers music from the bottom of her heart. You believe every note and word she sings to you.

Elinor’s musical journey began at the age of 5. It started off with a classical piano career that lasted for 16 years. Right from the beginning she was supported by her family. It shan’t be long until she started to participate in various concerts and events organized by her music college Taunus in Eschborn/Frankfurt. The young musician won several prizes in different piano competitions in Germany: 1st and 2nd prize at the renowned „Jugend musiziert“ and 1st price at the Robert-Stolz-Wettbewerb, just to name a few.

Other musicians took notice of Elinor. Collaborations with famous Romanian conductor Paraschiv Oprea and Wiesbaden-based tenor Giorgio Martin took place. She gave concerts with Oprea’s 1st Romanian Radio Orchestra in Bucharest and released two CDs called „Sara pe Deal“ and „Romanta inimii mele“ in collaboration with the orchestra and tenor Giorgio Martin. These CDs include poems of famous Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu set to music.

Working with tenor Giorgio Martin, Elinor discovered her fascination for singing and improvising on the piano. She decided to broaden her musical mind – Jazz and Commercial music aroused her interest and she started to take singing lessons and became a member of a school band.

After her A-Levels she moved to Europe’s probably most vibrating city – the capital of music as many say: London became her hometown for the following four years. She started her studies in Popular music at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Not only did the time in London enriched Elinor as a person but especially as a musician. Her studies inspired her to compose her own songs and write music for media/film, e.g. the jingle for „Big Dreams Productions“ and film music for the short film „Abendmahl“. Beside that she also toured with different bands from college. It’s no wonder that music production became a core theme in her work.

During her studies she also gained practical experience in media prodcution (Hitradio FFH/Frankfurt; Wisebuddah/London) and sound desgin (postproduction studios in Frankfurt).

After she successfully completed her studies end of 2007, Elinor got the chance to work as a freelancer in media production at the well known radio station Hitradio FFH in Bad Vilbel/Frankfurt where she still works today, and also supported the jingle and production company Wisebuddah in London.

However Elinor still lives and breathes for music. She continues to perform solo on piano and voice and is already regularly booked to perform on vernissages by the Fraport AG/Frankfurt, events of the HDI-Gerling insurance company and different Pianobars in and around Frankfurt.
She is also member of the tribute band „Kick it like Falco“ who play concerts in Germany and abroad.

Elinor is continually in the act of creating music and keeps enlarging her repertoire. She’s now taking further studies in composition at the conservatoire in Frankfurt and writes music for choir and orchestra.
Her goal is to write music for film/media and to keep performing her own material live on stage. She wishes to meet fellow musicians she could explore the endless world of music with, And to try combining her musical experiences, knowledge and abilities gained over the years with other musician’s experiences in order to come up with some great new sound!
