Guitarist, mandolinist, composer, and arranger Eduardo Mercuri was born in Curitiba, Brazil and grew up listening to his father’s record collection. At age 11 he began playing the guitar. Since moving to Boston, he has collaborated and performed with artists such as Darren Barrett, the salsa singer Luis Enrique, and the multi Grammy winner Alejandro Sanz, with whom he performed at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas in 2013. Apart of his sideman works, Mercuri performs regularly with his quintet and his choro trio, the ChoroBop. The Eduardo Mercuri Quintet also includes Gustavo D'Amico on saxophone, Paul Sanchez on trumpet, Flavio Lira on bass, and Juan Alejandro Francisco Saenz on drums.
