Born in Buenos Aires, Argentinean-German soprano Natalia Hurst arises with versatility and irreverence by her lively interpretations in comic opera roles as Lucy (Menottis The Telephone) or Despina (Mozart’s Così fan tutte), she brings chuckles and glitter as an old school Troubadourin on stage, with an avant-Garde look into diversity.

Based in Vienna since 2003, Natalia loves to bridge cultures through music, humor and teaching.

Natalia’s path through theater since her childhood lead her to stage her own projects, recently winning an Artist Scholarship from the City of Vienna, to develop her initiative "Opera Triptychon: A Quarantine Story": This interdisciplinary performance that brings opera scenes to present day versions, focusing on the de-romantization of violence against women, has been premièred recently als Live Streaming performance, because of the Lockdown in Austria on 25 November 2020 at WUK Performance Center.

Last August 2020 she also presented "Pane Quotidiano, Amore Veneziano" together with soprano Marika Rainer, a staged version of chamber pieces for two voices by Gioacchino Rossini and Claudio Monteverdi, as well as Hugo Wolf and Reynaldo Hahn’s songs with Commedia dell´ Arte flair, at the Viennese Summer Festival 2020. New performances are scheduled for October in Vienna.

She graduates with distinction from University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna at the class from Univ.Prof. Dr. Getraud Berka Schmid. As a member of the Konzertvereiningung der Wiener Staatsopernchor she worked with distinguished conductors as Riccardo Muti, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Antonio Pappano, Marc Minkowski and Sir Simon Rattle.
She sang Bach ́s Cantata "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen!", and other solo parts from sacred works as the Bruckner Requiem, Messe in D (A.Dvorak), Te Deum (A. Lasala) and Orgelsolo Messe (J Haydn), Exsultate Jubilate! (WA Mozart).

During the Mozart Year 2006 she participated as guest by the Athens Symphonie Orchestra in the "Mozart Gala", under Mtro. Andreas Tselikas and so in the Neue Oper Wien Production from "Zauberflöte 06 " (Th. Pernes) in the roles of 2nd. Dame and Boy.

With the Project "Oper Hautnah" (Opera at School) under musical direction from Stephen Delaney, she interpreted Donna Anna in Mozart´s “Don Giovanni” and Lucy in "The Telephone" by G. Menotti. With this short one act opera, she toured to Buenos Aires and participated in the Young Professionals Program of the München EUROVOX 2012 with great success. She performed in Buenos Aires at Magna Lírica´s "Cosi fan Tutte" (WA Mozart) the role of Despina.
Her album debut "Lieder der Unterwelt" („Underworld songs“) where she features beloved songs by Kurt Weill, Hugo Wolf and Arnold Schönberg, as also unknown german Tangos, is now available at Apple Music , Onepoint51 and Spotify.

Authenticity, warmth and the spell of singing, guarantee powerful food for the soul in each of her appearances.
