Macha Kanza, French pianist and violinist born in 1984, began her piano studies at the age of five in the Conservatoire de Saint-Quentin with Irène Kutin.
In 2002, she was honoured with the First Prize of the City of Paris, and in the same year was accepted into the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music under Yevgeni Moguilevsky, where she brillantly completed her Master's Degree in performance, obtaining the highest distinctions.
During her studies, she participated in several international piano competitions, such as « Acqua Viva International Competition »in Italy in 2005 (2nd Prize), « Sergei Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition » in Los Angeles in 2008 (Semi-Finalist), and performed in various musical events including the contemporary music festival « Ars Musica », the «Festival Musical des Orres», and the «Festival Musical du cloître de Cimiez» (Nice).
She has also had the occasion to play in various famous concert halls around the world, including « Théâtre de la Ville d'Atri »(Italy), « Aula Nova of Poznan » (Poland), « Pasadena Concert Hall » (Los Angeles), « Museum of Musical Instruments of Brussels » (2006), the «Auditorium of the Schola Cantorum» (Paris), Odessa Philharmony, etc...
In 2009, she was an invited soloist with the Bialystok Philarmonic Orchestra (Poland) under the direction of Reinhardt Seehafer (conductor of the Comic Opera of Berlin), and with the Odessa Philarmonic Orchestra (Ukraine) with Hobart Earne
.Macha Kanza was a finalist and was awarded 4th place at the «Emil Gilels International Piano Competition» in Odessa in November 2009.
In parallel with her pianistic endeavours, Macha studied the violin at the Conservatoire Jacques Ibert in Paris with Maris-Hélène Vivanco and was accepted into the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music studying under Adam Korniszewski.
This dual instrumental practice has allowed her to enlarge her soloist and chamber-music repertoire, and has given her the opportunity to benefit from the precious guidance of such Masters as Jean-Claude Pennetier, Daria Hovora, Ivry Gitlis, ...
From 2010 to 2013, Macha Kanza accepted a teaching position at the International Conservatory of Music in Paris.
